Let's Go Latin - Masonic Ball - Friday 18 July 2008.

The Masonic Ball 2008 was a grand affair that was held at the Grand Ballroom of the newly opened 5-Star One World Hotel in Bandar Utama, Petaling Jaya, Selangor at 7.30pm on 18th July 2008. 850 Masons from all 3 Constitutions and their spouses and guests were in attendance. Two tables had been reserved by the Brethren from the Royal Prince of Wales Lodge No. 1555 E.C. and the representation from our Lodge was led by our Most Senior Brother, W. Bro. N T. Vello, with Bro. Michael Geh, Bro. Selvin Vello and Bro. Kenneth Khoo and their respective spouses and guests.

W. Bro. Khoo Boo Kean, the Convener of the Ball for 2008, announced that the Masonic Ball for the year was organized by the Joseph William Yee Eu Foundation, which is the main foundation of Freemasonry within the District Grand Lodge of the Eastern Archipelago that actively engages in charitable works that are non-Masonic in nature. The night proved special and unforgettable when a donor, who is a prominent member of the business and economic community in the country, took the floor and announced that although we was not a Mason, he was indeed heartened to hear of all the good and humble works that Masons in Malaysia had been doing throughout his lifetime without seeking fame or glory from such works through he media. Indeed, such stories heard by him were often told by word of mouth through his friends or heard on the grapevine within the social community circles. He went on to say that such charity without glory was the most pure of all charitable forms and as an encouragement to all Masons to continue along such a righteous and noble path, he pledged and dedicated RM$5 million to the Joseph William Yee Eu Foundation and promised that when the Foundation has exhausted all the funds, he will give another RM$5 million to the Foundation.

The eventful night ended at around 12am in peace, love and harmony and the Brethren headed back to Penang the next day.
